Obesity at Pregnancy Linked to Diabetes Later

safe_imageWomen who are overweight or obese at the time of their first pregnancy are more likely to receive a diagnosis of diabetes a decade down the road, researchers reported recently.  

A study of more than 15,000 women in Sweden found that being overweight at the start of pregnancy resulted in a six-fold risk of diabetes diagnosed 10 to 17 years later.  Read more about this study here.
